If you were creating a movie based upon the exploits of Jonathan in 1 Samuel 14, who would you cast?
Prayer Warrior Ministries - Ah, the story of
Jonathan and the Philistine routing. This has got to be one of the most hilarious stories of warfare in the Bible. Picture this with me

It was a nice sunny day while King Saul relaxed under the shade of a grove of trees when Jonathan decided to take an armor bearer and attack a Philistine camp.
As they got closer to the camp Jonny, whom I'd cast as Mel Gibson, said to Sam (No, I dont know his real name but in my rendering of the story he has one. :-) I'd cast him as Danny Glover since they work so well together.), When we get there if the heathens come down to us well wait for em. If they tell us to go up there we will know that the Lord will give us the victory.
Ole Jonny had it figured that he was gonna fight no matter what because he had faith in God. (Something we would do well to learn.)
Well, when they get there sure enough those Philistines invited them up to the camp
I have no doubt that it wasnt for hot chocolate and donuts. But I sure like to picture the grin on Jonnys face as he looked at his armor bearer and charged up the hill.
Back to back they went, Jonny and his armor bearer. They proceeded to kill about 20 men. This threw the Philistines into a panic
Im sure the little earthquake God sent didnt help matters much either.
The vast Philistine army began to flee
one Bible version (1 Sam. 14:16 CEV) says that it looked like melting wax coming down from the hills.
Well now, this got King Sauls attention and he was wantin to know who was missing from his camp. When he found out that it was Jonathan he called the priest over to determine what the Lord wanted them to do. (Some how I think Saul was missing the obvious here.) While the priest was getting his stuff together the noise from the Philistines was growing in volume. Finally Saul gave up waiting on the priest and told him to never mind and ordered his men into battle.
By this time the Philistines were so confused they were killing each other. The mercenaries who had joined their ban must have figured they were all crazy and decided to help them in their endeavors.
In the end the Israelites gave the Philistine army a major whippin.
Now, if you were to make a movie from this battle who would you cast in the major roles of: Jonathan, Jonathans armor bearer, Saul, Sauls assistant, the Priest Ahijah, and the Philistine commander?
